Description
Organised in three parts-deterministic, probabilistic and nonlinear models, this much acclaimed book, has been thoroughly revised with almost all the chapters completely rewritten.
The network chapter is streamlined to include more applications and generalised algorithms including Floyd’s shortest route algorithm, goal programming etc. Numerical examples have been used to present underlying ideas of different operations research techniques.
The author has included a condensed version of PERT-CPM in the networks chapter. Probabilistic models start with a review of basic probability and statistics, followed by a presentation of forecasting models. The material on decision analysis includes the analytic hierarchy approach (AHP).
The software accompanying the book include TORA and the student version of SIMNET II. TORA includes various algorithms designed to match the format of the book and may be used as a tutorial tool or for problem-solving. SIMNET II has all the capabilities of the commercial version.
