THE BOOK
This textbook has been systematically divided into 12 sections. There is a separate chapter on imaging in obstetrics with plenty of quality pictures for better understanding. There is another detailed chapter on obstetric instruments, specimens, drugs and spots and laboratory tests for better performance in practical examination. A separate chapter on theory and practical examination in obstetrics has been included with sample papers, sample cases, marking pattern for undergraduate and postgraduate examination in obstetrics as a ready reference and guidance to the students. Evidence based medicine and guidelines from the prestigious institutions have been incorporated throughout the book. The book contains about 800 clinical photographs, figures, tables, flowcharts, ultrasound and other imaging modalities for better understanding and concept building. All chapters have key points (summary), further reading and examination questions for quick revision. Important concepts have been highlighted to help students to prepare for postgraduate entrance examinations and to answer better in viva. The book has been updated upto the end of Year 2011. The book though essentially meant for undergraduate students will also be useful for postgraduate students, students of other streams like midwives, homeopathy, ayurveda and practitioners in their day to day practice.
